Where Traditions Run Deep
This week is Homecoming at Sunnyslope High School.   Homecoming week is filled with many long-standing traditions.  On Monday, the Senior girls played the Junior girls in Powder Puff football; the Seniors won.   Tuesday morning, the Freshman class of 2021, along with STUCO and the football players, painted S Mountain, a tradition that began in 1955.   Tuesday night, after the varsity volleyball gamethe Senior boys beat the Juniors in Mandex volleyball.  Thursday night, with the help of our Fire Science Class, we had our annual bonfire.   Friday, the Viking Parent Club will sponsor a tailgate event with a silent auction and raffle in our parking lot, along with fireworks at our Homecoming football game.    On Friday, we will have our annual Homecoming parade at 6:30pm on Dunlap Avenue featuring clubs, cheerleaders and our Homecoming court.   After the varsity football game on Friday night, the Freshman football players will light ‘S’ Mountain.  The week concludes on Saturday with our Homecoming Dance sponsored by our Senior Class.
