August 2013

Following a variety of summer vacations, teaching assignments, and PLC meetings, Sunnyslope faculty and staff spent a cool and rainy day up north at Flagstaff Extreme located in Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Arizona.  A group of approximately 40 SHS employees had an aerial adventure while being securely suspended between Ponderosa Pines 15 to 60 feet above the ground.  The physically challenging adventure course took participants through four levels of circuits, each one getting more challenging, as participants completed suspended obstacles including hanging bridges, swings, slides, cargo nets, and zip lines.

Several weekend warriors completed the most challenging circuit, the “Black Circuit”, which required the most advanced skills, and was at the highest elevation.  Sheila Novak, Erin Knight, Amber Letarte, Carly Van Camp, Ashely Nogales, Mike Fenton, Mike Childress and Steve Ducey were just a few of the participants who were able to finish all four circuits.  Despite sore muscles and humbling challenges, everyone had a great time up in the trees at Flagstaff Extreme.
