Taking home the Hoophall West Championship, Ray Portela's Varsity Boys Basketball was busy over the Winter Break. 

The team defeated Georgia's Wheeler High School in the championship round on Saturday night. Wheeler had been ranked 5th in the nation prior to the game, and Sunnyslope, ranked 9th in the nation, came in as the slight underdog.

The semi-national tournament takes place midway through the boys' regular AIA season. Our team looks forward to a great second half of the season, with their eyes on the AIA Open Division tournament.
